Allison Cara Tolman is an American actor from the United States. Best known as Molly Solverson from the FX TV series Fargo during its initial season. At the beginning of her life, the family of Tolman relocated to England. They stayed there until she reached age four. Prior to making the move to Sugar Land in Texas, she lived for five years in Oklahoma as well as West Texas. At the age of 10years old, Fort Bend Community Theatre began providing acting classes. Fargo is a 1996 Coen Brothers movie, featured Billy Bob Thornton (as Molly Solverson), Martin Freeman (as Bob Odenkirk) and Bob Odenkirk. Tolman was recognized for her performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair stated that Tolman "calmly, assuredly stole" the show. She won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Film/Miniseries and was also nominated for Best Actress at both the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes for her role. It was also in the same year that it was revealed that Tolman is scheduled to make a guest appearance on the Mindy project as Abby Berman who is a romantic author. In 2015, Tolman was an supporting role in Michael Dougherty's comedy horror film Krampus. Tolman's breakthrough role in the film as Fargo was the reason she decided to leave various supporting roles, such as mother roles, best friends and wives. Tolman was searching for more unconventional roles. Tolman was a part of ABC's Downward Dog in 2017, inspired by Animal Media Group's website series. It was cancelled following one season. Tolman was a star in ABC's drama series Emergence that debuted on the 24th of September, 2019. The show was canceled on May 21, 2020, after just one episode despite "pretty strong" viewership, according to Tolman. Also, she was an actor on NBC's Good Girls. She played Alma Filcott, in the second season of Why Women Kill. Natalie Green played the role of Alma Filcott on her role in the Facts of Life segment of Live in Front of the Studio Audience's third season.
